yeah now thats a good question. i guess the software companies didn't have any idea the tapes might dail on consumers if they used disk drives etc theirselves

the nasty loading sound is a bit nostalgic for me. but i believe users didn't hear it cause it wasn't played back? (& sometimes nice loader music instead)
