If you have listened to other SID-tunes by Linus recorded on SOASC= you would know many of them sound like this (using all 3 SID-chipsets) wich cracks and stuff. I don't know if Linus intended some kind of filter to be used or something else in order to correct this... If not, a new recordning would not improve the sound quality. This is how good it gets. |

Pretty sure the "crackling" is deliberate, I think a few presets on the SidStation (ab)used that technique. I think depending on the SID revision you had to run some or all channels through the filter while maxing out the resonance. Could've been more specific if asked about it 20 years ago. |
