Since different configs, you can isolate the project work directories between versions, it suppresses the changes of breaking your project files switching to another version.

I made a lmms-version-launch script that enables you having multiple versions installed and configs. For linux and Windows, even the old ones. Nothing rocket science but needs to be careful, it doesnt fix some total user-errors
