snow bros is (imo) a very good game, but totally different feeling to 'bobble
I grew up on the chintzy Sno Bros clone of bubble bobble. lol
Paper Mario was another one i tried to give a chance, i thought look it's got mario and it's cute, i'll love it. brraaahhhhhooonooooo
but i'd rather be playin bubble bobble
doesn't mean i'm easily distracted by shinies though, i can spend forever with a pure text adventure game if it's written nicely. (RPG "dialogue" is better not mentioned. getting the same generic spiel every time you accidentally run into an old man)
Then there were games that were menu driven, and real time... Final Fantasy XI is a great example. Also an awful game.
but the play style is just dull to me. right, i see.
anyway i really like the sort of cute grid-like graphical style (funny how the western old 8-bits got isometric games but never really developed that 2D aerial view)
Real-time, basically. Distinguished from menu-driven.
what action is there? the fact that you can cut up a bush and find a jewel in it? OOH AH
