Rap: yeah that beam-racing is particularly popular in speccy demos also, as it's the only way to get more than 2 colours in 8x8 pixel cell
zoi(11:49:02)
isn't that why they turn off the screen while loading, because it takes all the cycles?
Rapture(11:48:59)
i understand A BIT.. haha get it , bit
zoi(11:48:55)
I thought the speccy used all CPU time to feed the rasterbeam?
Rapture(11:48:51)
i hope i dont have to discuss that when I'm doing muzak for da demo producers (as I understand nuthin, but music, hahaha)
zoi(11:48:16)
change what rows you flip it at to scroll it back and forward
zoi(11:48:04)
I like to do checkerboards. Pretty much you just have vertical lines, and then you flip the two backgroundcolors as the rasterbeam traverses the screen
zoi(11:47:34)
on the c64 we love to change things up on the fly. the VIC-chip can get its data and registers updated as the raster beam goes
mirrorbird(11:47:32)
oh well, if zoi disagrees with me about coding, he is right.
Rapture(11:47:23)
RACE THE BEAM. 128 byte of ram. thank you. LOL
