the down-side: if you saved onto a disk that was formatted with the "other" DOS (the one that didn't support SQUASH.X) you would probably fuck your whole disk.

i remember a cool routine called SQUASH.X that you could load into the +D RAM, and whenever you saved a snapshot (you know, game progress, etc.) it would compress it while saving, get much more on a disk.
