All I ever wanted was some Sunshine.

I swear I've heard this in commercial tune... quest accepted!

Steadily at the low level

velusip: one song with a slightly similar melody is game over music from "seven gates of jamabala"

lol, getting back to this one late. This little game takes little effort over lots of time.

I didn't find an exact copy of the riff as expected --- that drop to A minor after a repeating ascending arp seems like it would be common in pop/soft rock from the 80s forward. I'm surprised that I couldn't recall or find an exact example before or after given how good this one is. Combine subtly similar patterns, memory corruption, and the generalization which occurs when categorizating things leaves me "expecting" an exact match.

e.g. Natalie Imbruglia's based her career on similar patterns in her 2000s albums; Hurricanes, Shiver, Come September, Counting Down the Days. None are exact. Even if I did find a perfect match I wouldn't suggest that it was stolen as I don't believe these kinds of patterns should be "protected". Cultural influence is strong and these little ideas and the feelings they evoke travel easily from host to host.
