anyway yeah, you've probably seen the same stuff on your amiga, basically reading "raw" disk. some drives just don't allow it, especially cheapies

i don't know what changed but there came a point when this was no longer possible because the disk drives didn't support 'true reading' or something? it went through some fuck layer

there was a 1990s spectrum emulator where you could actually put in your speccy 3.5" floppy, and read it (VERY SLOWLY), extremely cool
