the equivalent of Minitel would probably be Ceefax. (cause it was a data sharing service, and not an actual computer. right?) but Ceefax was an extra feature on a TV set. so not quite the same.

as i said, they wanted to get ordinary citizens into these new 'home computers' in the early 80s. there was also a TV series "Making the Most of the Micro" where they showed programming and stuff, i watched it recently
