Ceefax wasn't as capable (you had a set of fixed pages, and could switch pages to read). Minitel was i think properly interactive, so more like: the stuff the travel agents used to check your holiday details. heh

the equivalent of Minitel would probably be Ceefax. (cause it was a data sharing service, and not an actual computer. right?) but Ceefax was an extra feature on a TV set. so not quite the same.
