hmm -- i was thinking "couldn't you 'stream' the catalogue, like a data file", but i guess you would have to write lots of long commands to actually initiate that
Agemixer(21:46:51)
one block. (8files in one).. it just converts it to basic for c64, on a fly
mirrorbird(21:45:46)
it needs a tiny bit of RAM in there for directory listings
mirrorbird(21:45:35)
so you were talking about this extra CPU in the floppy drive
Agemixer(21:44:53)
the turbo modules etc do not save to basic RAM for justva directory, any Action/Retroreplay works with F3 key for dir listing. Program stays untouched
Agemixer(21:43:09)
you can savevit actually.. like.. SAVE "Disk01-list" ,8
Agemixer(21:42:17)
yes thats the commodorevstyle of dir listing.
mirrorbird(21:40:52)
backward compatibility is hell
mirrorbird(21:40:45)
i can't get over the weirdness of the disk catalogue eating basic space
