I asked on the oneliner, but - going to ask here anyway (: This sounds very much like a slightly weaker version of Zyx's tune from the demo Hypnautic Hammer II (Extensors.) It may just be that it's been encoded with the wrong replay. It may also be that it's been ripped and put into this musicdisk, and it may the other way around - Zyx instead got the track from here and used it in the demo. And it may even be that Zyx being credited with making the tune is incorrect, I'm not finding an .nfo file for it (and I don't think I had one with the original disk back in the day.) |

Ok, I figured it out (: This IS very much like Zyx's tune, but it's the _chip_ version; and I believe it was featured at one point in one of the $keptic "Chipmania" packs. (Flite/$keptic put those together, they rule.) Which brought me to looking for Reverse/Digital's great 'Harmo-Nique' which -- well an earlier version, or different version, was on Nectarine back in the day, 2000/2001/2002, and Spectral and Nosfera2 and I used to discuss whether or not it was from an Yngve Malmsteen track, I think I thought it was and Spectral was sure it wasn't and Nosfera2 was basically ambivalent (: So yes: this is a CHIP (15k) version of the tune from Hypnautic Hammer II. Which is similar, but different, from the Half-Brains team's track "Thow-Hypnautique" from the Sunstone demo. I'll see if I can find the Chipmania that this is from, if it's indeed in a Chipmania pack. |
