...received a lot of attention at the time and a lot of other very good russian novellists have been overlooked. probably to this day. so. no shortage of good books out there. we don't have to read Harry Potter. haha

OC: i tend to avoid the "prefaces" in these things but an interesting comment in this book (btw i know The Idiot) was that the "big three" (Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Turgenev) ...
