oneliner is too small and everybody hates people speaking on the oneliner anyway, look at the three-messages rule they just put in
lenny(01:20:11)
i just tried with that test page, and it doesn't work there neither
mirrorbird(01:19:15)
as i told the guy writing his Hangman game: you gotta be like Sherlock Holmes. eliminate the impossible until only the truth remains. and then send an invoice
mirrorbird(01:18:51)
however, .NET is the same as what i used to do in perl, 98% of the time, so i am guessing the oddity is your tool doing something... again: if you show me the pattern, and the failing string, i can test it in .NET regex engine if you want
lenny(01:18:12)
over there the dev mentions a test page and the engine the tool uses
mirrorbird(01:18:00)
ah it's .NET. ok, that's my day job mate, i can test that one in some detail here
mirrorbird(01:16:55)
(by the way, if you got any support/forum with these people, it might be good to ask there. like "i have got a PROVEN working regex, see my regex101 link, but why doesn't it work in your tool?")
