I was working on IT at the Superior Tribunal of Justice, and one of the judges offered me a position on his office, but asked me to get a lawyer degree to do so. Then, I started studying it and got my license in 3 years, instead of the usual 5 years.

yeah i posted E&W (england wales) -- scotland (although it's part of the UK) has its own separate laws, and schools, for historical raesons. and don'ty ask about ireland

Barrister is something that I think doesn't exist here in Brazil. Here there's only one type of lawyer, who can work at any court, in any case. There's only one type of test to get the license, and when you get it, it's for life.
