OPL has multiple variants (OPL2, OPL3, etc), and within them there is variance depending on whether you're using the original Yamaha chip or some emulation thereof

Yeah You'd need someone dedicated to USING the AdLib/OPL to get the max out of it. Just like one may optimize code instead of just converting and hoping the CPU - GPU is powerful enough.

I used to own an AdLib and the music on the demo disks were different in style and sound than the FM from other games
