Some years back, I was asking acquaintances in the USA whether they liked the national anthem or not. Many people responded "uh I dunno, I'm not very patriotic". But the question was about music, not patriotism! I don't know why people had such trouble with it.

For this compo, we will render our national anthems. You think your anthem sucks? Try to make it sound as great as possible!

Rules:

* Your entry must be a recognisable rendition of the current national anthem of the country (i.e., passport-issuing entity) you normally reside and work in, and/or should match the Necta flag you customarily use;
* If your country has no official anthem, you should use the song they play on behalf of your country at the Olympics;
* No live performances;
* You can use any platform;
* Song length limit of 4 mins, which should be enough even for the USA anthem;
* One entry per person/team.

Deadline is 14 days after the date of the 6th affirmative reply to this thread. (If not enough people reply, we won't bother!)

After the deadline, we play the entries live on Necta, for voting.

This should really be done. I get very excited imagining jazz or UNTZ versions of all those boring trumpety national pomposities.
