Theme definately hit's the spot on the happy/sad name of the compo. It seems a bit hasty, though.

The first distinct segment kinda turned me off with that first "way out stinger" note, but it seemed better after that. In the middle segment, the drums got to be a bit repetitive, which may have been less noticeable if there was more to the main melody.

This sounded so much like YM to me Yeahhh! As a result it made me really happy.

I wrote this as a 32k-XM intro for a nonexistent demo. Hence the strange organization.

Seppjo, that was the intent. Just like the YM2419 I used only a square wave and (small digitized) drums, plus a LOT of vibrato and interference (and clipping), to make things sound interesting. I love YM-tunes.
