The song has a lot of history behind it, Galway had been listening to Jarre before this song was composed. His CD player had broken and was in for repair when he got this assignment, and it wasn't until after he got it back and this track released that he realized how close to the original it was. Its an excellent track, all the same =) Ranks up there with Tetris by Wally Beben.

Seems to me that a coincidential compostition (like FishGuy says) is a bit too coincidential in this case
