I'm reading a book now on the internals of the ZX spectrum on a very low level. It's fun

you remember that old joke, how many programmers to change a light-bulb? -- well. that's true also. it's horrible to think after 30 years that the clean on-off binary isn't quite so clear-cut in a circuit.

Ahh yes, I know that feeling. Something similar happens to me

we can't know everything... i think i'm too old to really learn new stuff now. i can 'get' it but i won't internalise.

i read some "kids' guide to electronics" not long ago i'd had it bookmarked for years. ha ha. so now i know what resistance is, and how current is different from voltage. but i still know nothing.
silencer(01:03:05)
well, at least you find confort in knowing someone apreciates it
mirrorbird(01:02:29)
unfortuantely, i know almost nothing about hardware, i'm only a software guy

the games alone would be pretty valuable now, oops, i gave all that stuff away when i moved house. still -- i gave it to a proper 8-bit nerd, so that's ok.

anyway. i bought this ZX81 and a whole big case of about 50 games, for some tiny silly amount of money -- but the machine had broken keyboard membrane, it would boot up but you couldn't type

and apparently there are no schematics for the DPC-200. So I'm trying to create them from the PCB
