digital latch is a good idea because they should give out more steady output voltages, i've seen that the voltage stages can differ too much between PC or c64 physical port's pinouts. That latch must be then... signaled, when to forward the signal

((on resistor DAC)) - 8 bits sample bus needs 16+1 resistors of "ladder" connection.
Agemixer(03:05:56)
(digital line transitions = momentary stages causing erraneous, momentary high freqs)
Agemixer(03:03:38)
also a high freq filter cap could be needed for DAC (additionally), filtering the port digital transitions to the gnd.

... on how to read/write from DAC/ADC.

at least less hassle machine-side sampler code, just perhaps. otherwise pretty much tye same idea
Agemixer(02:58:35)
but at that stage it is probably better to just buy a ready DAC or ADC chip that does most of that job automatically and.. less hassle and get cheaper perhaps
Agemixer(02:56:41)
and also schottkys at least to prevent line input or line outputs exceed or reverse peaks occur giving more than 5 v or less than 0 volts
Agemixer(02:55:17)
for tad more complexity, there could be a latch chip for inputs and outputs for digital signals buffered, but also some kind of output signal followers
