I know a guy who makes his own wine at home now, however, and I've tried it and it's pretty good.

I remember back during the Arab Spring there was all this bootlegging going on in Libya and people were dying from some kind of bad alcohol

yeah I'd be afraid to do it and mess up, too

Besides i dont want to risk brewing or distilling poisons like methanol... which is a nice solvent in chemistrty but not something you want in your drink
