i haven't heard of it, was it a scene work?

flagvelusip

There must be some sunvox tunes on necta.

flagvelusip

It's just a really impressive little piece of code. A tracker and synthesizer, designed for tiny screens and low power processors. It was ported to so many platforms back in the day, I was kinda hoping it would get on the Nintendo DS, but never checked

velu: no i haven't played with sunvox!

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:30

ORG $50000; lol yeah baby

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:30

ORG $40000 ; this one is here to trick rival tools, it's a lie

flagvelusip
23 March 2019 04:30

Completely off topic, ever play with SunVox?

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:30

$40000 ; this is not a hexadecimal address, it's just the money i'm gonna make from this code. compiler is designed to ignore it

flagvelusip
23 March 2019 04:29

; Patterns? Where we're going we don't need patterns.

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:29

NOTE: pitch bend will also apply, be sure to stop your note playing before you rotate a fucking cube, bah-bééé

flagvelusip
23 March 2019 04:29

; mod exit routine, take care.

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:28

hahahahahaaaa this is the shit the demo coders leave us with

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:28

if you modify your note with FF then all following note modifiers will be interpreted as machine instructions rather than pitch bends.

Halt and Catch Fire.

flagvelusip
23 March 2019 04:27

I don't remember, but I vaguely recall seeing some extreme pattern abuse back when I did a lot of tracking in the late 1990s.

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:27

so it's a bit like having an actual CPU with a HALT instruction

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:27

made me laugh because um i thik it would actually freeze playback

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:26

it's not a proper system unless there's a way to fux it up.

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:26

there was some tracker where FF code did something terrible wasn't there?

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:26

hummm

flagvelusip
23 March 2019 04:25

What would be awful is the instrument envelopes affected the playback/execution speed for some versions of trackers. :).

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:23

but they are out there

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:23

multiply, BANG. so what's wrong with thist magical file? ok i'll shut up because it's scrolled off the recent files and i can't rememer which one.

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:22

only tempo and number of patterns

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:22

i assume you don't even need to care abot the samples

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:22

it is hard to take a mod and work out the time. but not THAT hard.

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:21

what, it's still echoing at the end so we're gonna -- no, i am missing smoething

flagvelusip
23 March 2019 04:21

No, there's nothing like that in the module formats... well, maybe reason.

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:21

but "effect instruction" can fuck off

flagmirrorbird
23 March 2019 04:21

but im going to admit i have no fkin idea how this file is stored. i HOPE there isn't a couple of bytes at the start saying how long it should be, because, DRY
