Feature idea: there should be a periodic process that checks YouTube links to see if they still work. (YouTube sucks really because they delete stuff on any provocation, but also the user might delete their account for any reason -- boredom, anonymity, etc. -- and it's not a "reliable source" or organised archive like Pouet or DemoZoo.)

Quite a good idea! Easy to implement too. How do we determine a broken link from a working one? Do we have to screen-scrape? Or is there some sort of API we can go through?

Shinobi noticed that  Beams of Light (CPC cover) is a particularly bad rip. Almost half the MP3 is the wrong song! It is set to "needs re-encoding" but if anyone knows where to get it, it would be good to try to fix this one. (Was it in a demo?)

Thanks. nyingen: Re finding broken YouTube links: I'm not sure how to find a broken YouTube video to test with  I would hope that they would serve 404 in the HTTP header -- that is the first thing to check -- but it's quite possible that new evil Google doesn't do this. If not then yeah you'd have to do some fairly simple scraping.
